Elena Gilbert is a character from the Vampire Diaries who is used concurrently and usually from Season 5 onward being the main factor of her history and appears in several incarnations, created by different authors and fanon writers and thus has different dimensional lives.

She has lived a normal life until she met Stefan Salvatore. They started dating almost immediately.Her parents died in a car accident. She was also in the car but she was saved by Stefan. She has a brother, Jeremy, whom she loves a lot. Jeremy discovered he was a vampire hunter later on it the series. Elena also discovers she was adopted and it turns out her biological father is her uncle John who she really hates. Her mother was John's first and true love. Both of her biological parents die. She has an aunt jenna who also dies due to Klaus' transformation to a hybrid.Elena is an Amara doppelganger. Meeting Stefan is meant to be since he is a Silas doppelganger. Elena was turned into a vampire. There are complications because due to the process of turning she gets sired to Damon who is Stefans older brother. Damon makes her turn off her humanity and when she does so she burns her house down with her dead brother inside it.
