She stared at him. He stared at her. Like two peas in a pod, they didn't know what to do once the pod fell away.
"Damon, I'm trying here. But I can't be superwoman all the time!" Elena yelled at him, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I'm not asking you to be! I'm asking you to just, for once, listen to me Elena. I promise you I'd never lie about something like this." Damon took a step towards her and nearly sighed in relief when she didn't step back.
"Fine. Talk. Tell me, why would 'Lissa', the new girl, lie to me about kissing you. She was obviously proud of it. You can't lie, I saw the truth in her eyes." Elena hissed.
"I'm not lying, she was telling the truth. She did kiss me -" He didn't get to finish when Elena slapped him.
"See?! See Damon, I can never trust you!" She screamed.
"Listen to me!" Damon yelled in frustration.
Elena went quiet and looked up at him angrily.
"She kissed me! Not the other way around! I pushed her off, the stupid girl, and left! Nothing more Elena...Elena..You know I love you, Elena. Nothing has got in the way of that...I love you Elena like a flower loves the honeybee which brings the pollun which allows it to be alive. You're like my honeybee Elena. You bring me the light in my life I need to survive. " Damon was soft at the end.
Through his speech, Elena's face had gotten softer. She stepped forward and pulled his head down, kissing him.
"I'm your honeybee Damon, but..."
"But what?" Damon said as he held her in his arms.
"That means you're my flower, Flower." Elena grinned up at him and he groaned.
The honeybee and her flower.
